APP Wine Law is headed by Andrew Park, a commercial lawyer with over 30 years experience in legal practice. Andrew joined Lake, New & Hurst, Stockport, in 1976 as an articled clerk. He qualified as a solicitor in 1978, became a partner in 1982, and managing partner in 1984. Andrew started his solo practice in 1994, initially specialising in company and commercial law, then focusing increasingly on the niche area of wine trade law. He re-branded as APP Law in 2003, and subsequently adopted the APP Wine Law brand.
Why specialise in the wine trade?
In 1995 Andrew took on one of the very first commercial agency compensation cases for a UK wine importer. He became interested in the wine trade, and the complex, cross-border legal problems it gives rise to. He felt there was an opportunity to carve out a niche as a specialist provider of legal services to the trade, including:
- Wine agency
- Wine distribution
- Brand ownershop and development
- Joint ventures.
Why operate as a solo?
To offer a highly responsive, personal service to every single client, and guarantee that every piece of work is done to the highest possible standard.
Professional bodies and associations
- International Wine Lawyers Association (AIDV)
