Compensation on termination of agency – further possible claims

The principal head of compensation available to a commercial agent (unless he has agreed to accept an "indemnity") will be "goodwill compensation", assessed in accordance with the ruling of the House of Lords in Lonsdale v Howard & Hallam LtdClick here for our report — and see assessment of compensation.

But goodwill compensation of that kind is not necessarily the end of it.  Consideration should also be given to whether the agent has any further entitlements under the Commercial Agency Regulations.  This involves a three stage process, as follows ...................
