


Where the termination of a distribution agreement has come about because of a breach of contract by the producer ('P') — either by P giving less notice of termination than he should have done, or by his committing a serious breach bringing the contract to an end (a "repudiation") — the distributor ('D' — see terminology) may be entitled to claim damages for the breach. In particular, he may have a claim for loss of profit in respect of the sales he would have made by continuing as P's distributor until the end of the contract term or of the period of notice P should have given.
But if P does give sufficient notice, and commits no other breach of the contract, under English law .....................
